The Requirements
To flash these firmware files, you will need:- Storage: A USB OTG drive or a Nano Memory (NM) card (standard MicroSD cards are not supported in the phone's slot, but you can use a USB OTG adapter with a USB stick).
- PC: A Windows PC to extract the firmware files.
- Backup: A full backup of your personal data (photos, chats, contacts) as this process will erase everything.
- Charge: Your phone battery charged to at least 50%.
How to Flash the Firmware (dload Method)
This is the official method to update or restore your Huawei device.- Step 1: Download the correct firmware zip file for your specific model (CDY or CDL).
- Step 2: Extract the zip file on your PC. You should find a folder named `dload` containing a file named update.app.
- Step 3: Copy the entire `dload` folder to the root directory of your USB drive (for OTG) or NM card.
- Step 4: Power off your phone completely.
- Step 5: Connect the USB OTG drive to your phone (or insert the NM card).
- Step 6: Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons simultaneously. Keep holding them until the EMUI/Huawei update screen appears. The phone will automatically verify the file and begin flashing.
