How to Flash the Firmware
This firmware is flashed using the official Mi Flash Tool. Follow these steps carefully.Method 1: Flashing Official Fastboot ROM (.tgz)
- Step 1: Download the
firmware file and extract it to a folder on your PC (e.g.,Code:
.tgz). Note: Do not use a folder path with spaces.Code:C:\yupei_rom - Step 2: Download, extract, and run MiFlash.exe as an administrator.
- Step 3: Power off your Xiaomi Pad 8 completely.
- Step 4: Boot into Fastboot Mode by pressing and holding the Power + Volume Down buttons simultaneously until you see the Fastboot logo.
- Step 5: Connect your tablet to the PC via USB.
- Step 6: In Mi Flash Tool, click the "Refresh" button. Your device should appear with a unique serial number.
- Step 7: Click "Select" and navigate to the folder where you extracted the firmware.
- Step 8 (IMPORTANT): At the bottom of the tool, select "Clean all".
- WARNING: Do NOT select "Clean all and lock" unless you are 100% certain you are flashing a China ROM onto a China-model device. Locking the bootloader on a cross-region flash will brick the tablet.
- Step 9: Click the "Flash" button to begin the installation. The process may take several minutes (300-600 seconds).
