The Redmi Pad 2 Pro (also known as the POCO Pad M1 in certain regions) shares the internal codename "flute". This mid-range tablet features a massive 12,000mAh battery and runs on HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. While generally a solid performer, some users have reported issues such as the refresh rate locking to 60Hz in certain apps (despite the 120Hz screen), slow charging times due to the massive battery capacity, and occasional UI stutters or app freezes. Flashing the official Fastboot ROM is the standard solution to fix these software bugs, unbrick a device stuck in a bootloop, or perform a clean factory reset.

‼️ CRITICAL WARNING: REGION & DEVICE MATCH ‼️
  • Unified Codename: The files below are for devices with the codename "flute". This applies to both the Redmi Pad 2 Pro and the POCO Pad M1.
  • Region Lock: Be careful when flashing a ROM from a different region. You MUST NOT lock the bootloader if you are cross-flashing regions. Selecting "Clean all and lock" on a cross-region flash will hard-brick the tablet.
  • Data Loss: Flashing a Fastboot ROM (
    Code:
    .tgz
) via Mi Flash Tool will erase all data on the tablet. Please back up your photos, documents, and other important files first.

✅ The Requirements

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
  • PC/Tools: A Windows PC.
  • Bootloader: An unlocked bootloader on your tablet.
  • Cable: A reliable USB-C cable.
  • Backup: A full backup of your data.
  • Software: Xiaomi MI Flash Tool installed on your PC.
  • Drivers: Xiaomi/Qualcomm USB drivers installed.

➡️ How to Flash the Firmware

These firmware files are flashed using the Mi Flash Tool. This will erase all your data.

Method 1: Flashing Fastboot ROM (.tgz)

  1. Step 1: Download your chosen
    Code:
    .tgz
firmware file and extract it to a simple folder on your PC (e.g.,
    Code:
    C:\flute_rom
). Ensure there are no spaces in the path.
  2. Step 2: Download, extract, and run MiFlash.exe as an administrator.
  3. Step 3: Power off your tablet completely.
  4. Step 4: Boot into Fastboot Mode by pressing and holding the Power + Volume Down buttons until the fastboot logo appears.
  5. Step 5: Connect your tablet to the PC via USB. Click the "Refresh" button in Mi Flash Tool. Your device should appear with a serial number.
  6. Step 6: Click "Select" and navigate to the extracted firmware folder (the folder containing the
    Code:
    images
    folder and batch files).
  7. Step 7 (IMPORTANT): At the bottom of the tool, select "Clean all".
    • WARNING: Do NOT select "Clean all and lock" if you are flashing a region different from your device's original region. This will brick the device.
  8. Step 8: Click "Flash" to begin. The process may take several minutes.
