The original Huawei Nova (codename "Cannes" / "CAN") is a classic compact device powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. Despite its reliability, users often encounter software issues such as the "red lightning bolt" of death (battery/boot failure), bootloops after an OTA update, or general system sluggishness on older Android versions. We have collected a wide range of firmware files, including standard updates and specialized unbricking files, to help you restore your device.

‼️ CRITICAL WARNING: CHECK FILE TYPE & CHIPSET ‼️
The Huawei Nova uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. This means there are three different ways to flash it, and you must choose the correct file for your method.
  1. Dload Files (SD Card): These are standard update packages (

✅ The Requirements​

Depending on the file type, you will need:
  • For Dload: A Micro SD Card (8GB+) and full battery charge.
  • For QFIL/Board: A Windows PC, USB Cable, Qualcomm USB Drivers (QDLoader 9008), and the QFIL Tool.


➡️ How to Flash the Firmware​

Please choose the method that corresponds to your downloaded file.

Method 1: Huawei Dload (for Dload.zip / Firmware.rar)​

  1. Step 1: Extract the firmware file on your PC.
  2. Step 2: Find the

  3. Step 3: Copy the

    folder to the root of your Micro SD card.
  4. Step 4: Insert the card into the phone. Press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power simultaneously to start the update.

Method 2: QFIL Tool (for QPST / XML files)​

Use this for files listed in Section 1. This unbricks dead phones.
  1. Step 1: Install Qualcomm USB Drivers on your PC.
  2. Step 2: Open QFIL (part of QPST).
  3. Step 3: Boot phone into EDL Mode (typically by holding Vol Up + Vol Down + connecting USB, or using Test Points).
  4. Step 4: Select "Flat Build", load the programmer path (
    Code: 
    mbn
    file) and XML files from the extracted firmware folder.
  5. Step 5: Click Download.
