The Asus ZenFone Live (ZB501KL) was a budget-friendly device focused on media. However, given its entry-level specifications (Qualcomm 410 chipset, 2GB RAM), users commonly report significant software-related problems. These issues include severe system-wide lag, apps (like Asus Launcher) crashing, the phone getting stuck on the Asus logo (bootloop), and the camera failing to open. Flashing an official stock firmware is the most effective method to fix these software bugs, unbrick a stuck device, and restore it to a clean, stable factory condition.
The files below are for two different flashing methods. They are NOT interchangeable. Using the wrong file or method will fail or brick your device.
Recovery ZIP Firmware (Method 1)Note: This is a standard recovery ZIP package. Use this file for the SD Card update method (Method 1 below).

Full RAW Firmware (Method 2 - Advanced)Note: This is a full RAW firmware package. Use this file to unbrick your phone using the QFIL tool (Method 2 below).

Disclaimer: This process is performed at your own risk. We are not responsible for any data loss or bricked devices. Please ensure you have the Asus ZenFone Live (ZB501KL). Flashing a RAW file (Method 2) is an advanced and dangerous procedure. If you are unsure, please use the simpler SD card method (Method 1) with the correct file. Flashing the wrong file type *will* brick your device. If you have any problems, drop a comment on the thread.
Critical Warning: Different Firmware Types
The files below are for two different flashing methods. They are NOT interchangeable. Using the wrong file or method will fail or brick your device.- The first file (...M3.4.25.zip) is a standard Recovery ZIP. It is flashed via the stock recovery (SD card) method.
- The other two files (...user.raw.zip) are RAW firmware. These are for advanced unbricking using a PC with the QFIL tool. Do NOT try to flash these from the recovery menu.

How to Flash the Firmware
Please choose the method that matches the file you downloaded.Method 1: Using Stock Recovery (for the .zip file)
Use this method for the file: Asus_ZenFone_Live_ZB501KL_13.1405.1703.28_M3.4.25.zip- Download the .zip file and copy it to the root directory (the main folder, not inside any other folder) of your Micro SD card.
- Power off your ZenFone Live completely.
- Boot into recovery mode by pressing and holding the Power button + Volume Down button simultaneously.
- Once in the recovery menu, use the Volume buttons to navigate to "Apply update from SD card" (or "Apply update from external storage").
- Press the Power button to select it, then choose the .zip file you copied to the SD card. The installation will begin.
Method 2: Using QFIL (for the .raw.zip files)
Use this method for the ...user.raw.zip files. This is for advanced users or to unbrick a dead phone.- Download and extract the QFIL tool, Qualcomm drivers, and your chosen .raw.zip firmware file on your PC.
- Install the Qualcomm 9008 drivers. Power off your phone completely.
- Boot your phone into EDL Mode (9008). (This is often done by holding Volume Up + Volume Down and plugging in the USB cable, or by using test points on the motherboard).
- Open QFIL.exe. It should detect your phone as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" port.
- In QFIL, select "Flat Build," then browse and load the `prog_emmc_firehose.mbn`, `rawprogram0.xml`, and `patch0.xml` files from the extracted firmware folder. Click "Download" to begin flashing.
