The Asus FonePad 7 series, particularly the popular budget models FE170CG (K012) and FE171CG (K01N), are well-known for experiencing significant software issues as they age. Due to their limited 1GB of RAM and Intel Atom processors, the most common user complaints include extreme slowness, constant lag, apps crashing with "Unfortunately, Asus Launcher has stopped" errors, and fast battery drain. Many users also face a "soft brick" scenario where the tablet is stuck in a bootloop on the Asus logo or loading circle. Flashing a full, official stock firmware package is the most reliable way to fix these software bugs, unbrick a stuck device, and restore it to a clean, factory condition.
CRITICAL WARNING: TWO DIFFERENT MODELS

This firmware is flashed using the Asus stock recovery (also called Droidboot). This method works for both the FE170CG and FE171CG models.
- Download: Download the correct firmware .zip file for your model. Do not extract the .zip file.
- Transfer: Copy the entire downloaded .zip file to the root directory (the main folder) of your Micro SD card.
- Power Off: Power off your FonePad completely.
- Recovery Mode: Boot into recovery (Droidboot) by pressing and holding the Power button + Volume Up button simultaneously. Release them when you see the Asus logo.
