The Xiaomi Mi 10 (codename: "umi") was a powerful flagship, and it has now received the official HyperOS (OS1.0) update based on Android 13. While the update brings a new interface, some users still report issues like occasional animation stutters, notification delays, or persistent battery drain from older MIUI builds. For users experiencing these software bugs, or for those stuck in a bootloop (stuck on the Mi logo), or who simply want a completely clean installation, flashing an official Fastboot ROM is the most effective solution. These files will completely restore your device to its factory condition for the selected region.

‼️ CRITICAL WARNING: Read Before Flashing ‼️
  • Bootloader Status: You cannot flash these official Fastboot files unless your phone's bootloader is unlocked.
  • Data Wipe: Flashing a Fastboot ROM will wipe all your personal data (photos, contacts, apps). Back up everything first.
  • Custom ROM: The xiaomi.eu file is a custom ROM. It must be flashed with a custom recovery (like TWRP), NOT the Mi Flash Tool.
  • Region Lock Danger: Flashing the wrong region's ROM, or selecting "clean all and lock" in Mi Flash Tool with a cross-region ROM, can result in a permanent brick. Only select "clean all and lock" if you are 100% certain you are flashing the correct, original region firmware.

✅ The Requirements

For Mi Flash Tool (Official .tgz ROMs)

  • PC/Hardware: A Windows PC and a reliable USB-C cable.
  • Bootloader: An unlocked bootloader on your Xiaomi Mi 10.
  • Tool: Xiaomi MI Flash Tool installed, plus Xiaomi/Qualcomm USB drivers.
  • Backup: A full backup of all your personal data.

For Custom Recovery (xiaomi.eu .zip ROM)

  • Recovery: A custom recovery (like TWRP) installed on your Mi 10.
  • Bootloader: An unlocked bootloader.
  • File Location: The downloaded `.zip` file on your phone's storage or an OTG drive.
  • Power: Phone charged to at least 50%.

➡️ How to Flash the Firmware

Method 1: Using Xiaomi MI Flash Tool (for .tgz files)

Use this for all official Fastboot ROMs.
  1. Extract ROM: Download and extract your chosen `.tgz` file to a simple folder on your PC.
  2. Start Tool: Run MiFlash.exe as an administrator.
  3. Fastboot Mode: Power off the phone. Hold Power + Volume Down until the fastboot logo appears. Connect to PC.
  4. Load ROM: Click "refresh" in the tool. Your device serial should appear. Click "select" and point to the extracted ROM folder.
  5. Select Option: At the bottom, select "clean all". DO NOT select "clean all and lock" unless you are 100% sure of the region.
  6. Flash: Click "Flash" to start the process.
For a detailed guide: How to Flash Xiaomi Firmware with Mi Flash Tool.

Method 2: Using Custom Recovery (for xiaomi.eu .zip file)

Use this method ONLY for the `xiaomi.eu...zip` file.
  1. Transfer File: Copy the `.zip` file to your phone's storage (or OTG drive).
  2. Recovery Mode: Power off. Hold Power + Volume Up to boot into custom recovery (TWRP).
  3. Wipe Data: Go to "Wipe". For a clean flash, use "Advanced Wipe" and select Dalvik/ART Cache, Cache, System, and Data. This is mandatory.
  4. Install: Go to the main menu, select "Install", and choose the `xiaomi.eu...zip` file. Swipe to confirm.
  5. Reboot: Reboot the system when the installation is finished.
